*Job: QA Automation Engineer*

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES (Required)
The Department of Information Resources (DIR) requires the services of one
(1) QA Engineer, hereafter referred to as Worker, who meets the general
qualification and the specifications outlined in this document for the
above-named customer.
1. As a member of the Quality Assurance Team, the QA Engineer supports the
development of quality assurance (QA) test project strategies,
methodologies, and standard processes to ensure testability and
traceability.
2. Responsible for all aspects of software testing (system, integration,
regression, performance testing etc.
3. Develops test scenarios and executes of test cases across all testing
phases (e.g., SIT, Performance, UAT, Automation, Production, Validation).
4. Does tracking of quality metrics across testing phases (e.g., SIT,
Performance, UAT, Automation, Production, Validation).
5. Participates in the review and validation of testable business
processes, test data, and test environment requirements.
6. Assists program/business testers during User Acceptance Testing.
7. Assist with publishing scheduled reports (e.g., test execution,
defects, ad hoc reports) and provides daily test execution metrics to IT
teams and management, as appropriate.
8. Participates in story and sprint definition
9. Assist with defining acceptance criteria for each sprint and related
test cases and automation opportunities.
10. Utilizes agency’s testing tools and standards and follows usage
guidelines and procedures for those tools.
11. Support automation test coverage throughout the product including
GUI, API layers, services and database driven scripts.
12. Participate in defining Performance Testing Strategy.
13. Accountable for on time delivery of QA deliverables.
14. Measure KPI of all software deployed and present regular status
updates regarding the same.
15. Manage defects in defect tracking tools from the time it is reported
to the time it is fixed.
16. Identifies metrics for monitoring increased performance and
scalability.
17. Assist with performance test initiatives that take a true end-to-end
focus on ensuring client side, server tiers, database and data integration
jobs are performing as expected.
18. Troubleshoots performance, load, and stress testing through analysis
of system design/coding.
19. Performs related work as assigned.
20. Works in an Agile environment.
All work products resulting from the project shall be considered “works
made for hire” and are the property of the HHSC. HHSC may include
pre-selection requirements that potential Vendors (and their Workers)
submit to and satisfy criminal background checks as authorized by the Texas
law. HHSC will pay no fees for interviews or discussions, which occur
during the process of selecting a Worker(s).

3 Knows EIR Accessibility and required
technical specifications (i.e. US Section 508 and WCAG2.0).
8 Works with many types of testing: e.g.,
unit, integration, regression, smoke, user acceptance, system, stress, and
performance
8 Project Coordination of complex projects
with multiple stakeholders.
8 Experience with standard concepts,
practices, and procedures within the testing field
8 Experience writing automated test scrips
with services such as Jenkins
8 Experience in prioritizing test scenarios
and creating execution plans to implement these scenarios
8 Experience in creating test plans, test
cases, and preparing test environments
8 Experience in performing moderately complex
functional, application, and regression testing
8 Experience working with Azure pipelines and
Azure test plans
8 Knowledge of the software development life
cycle and software development methodologies
8 Able to interpret requirement documents and
able to update test documents accordingly
8 Strong familiarity with analysis, planning
and management reporting functions
8 Experience managing defect throughout the
defect life cycle
8 Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
8 Able to work with Customer as needed during
test cycle
8 Excellent analytical; problem-solving; team
playing; and oral and written communication skills
8 Proven ability to work successfully with
technical and non-technical groups and manage multiple responsibilities

3 Experienced in Testing Pharmaceutical or
Health care related applications
2 Experience with Texas DIR Project Delivery
Framework and document templates
2 Familiarity with agency’s information
architecture and information management methodologies
2 Familiarity with the existing and planned
software technology and the global, regional, and local software
architecture and infrastructure components
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree and 8 plus years’ experience or equivalent.
- Master’s degree is a plus.
