*Job: GCP Engineer* *Location: 100% remote, must work EST hours.* *3+ month contract* *B2B Marketing Software Company* This client is partially in Google Cloud but they have some systems that are on-premise that they are rewriting for the cloud. Some may just be lift and shift and some may need to be completely re-written. They have 4-5 Developers and a QA on the team. There is also someone who has excellent domain knowledge on GCP and some Tech Leads/Architects who are hands-on. They are looking to bring this person on to get the project done quicker. Cloud Composer is a huge area of focus that they want this person to have. They also need to know how to apply the technologies to the appropriate data structures for the problem they have. This person won’t be a DevOps Engineer, could be a Data Engineer with some of these application skills. I told him that it seems like all those skills would be common in a Data Engineer except Java/Groovy and he expects someone with a good engineering background can likely pick that up if they have everything else. *Requirements:* · Excellent BigQuery skills · Excellent *Python* skills - not just some Python experience but knows how to do stuff the "right way" in Python. This will be critical for migrating our existing Java/Groovy to the Cloud.
