Having the camera app create thumbs when a photo is taken is great, but another common scenario has been left unanswered. What happens when the user inserts (or copies) images to the SD card?
I've found that unless the Pictures app is run, no thumbs have been generated for the images on the SD card and I have to add the thumbs myself in order to display thumbnail images. Additionally, the gallery/camera apps only create the mini version of the thumbnail and not the micro version. It would be great to have a clear, consistent policy for thumbnail generation of images that reside on the SD card. I can foresee apps battling over thumb creation, some doing it well, others not so well and using different (custom?) sizes for both sizes. That's my two cents.
