Hi, I think I found two answers to my own question:
1. The files and directories I wanted to see start with a dot (.) which are hidden by default on linux. Using adb shell, I can use "ls - a" to see them. Anyway, I can not see them in DDMS and I cannot find a setting to change that. I think I will file a bug report for that. 2. I've managed to write a simple directory browser activity in 67 lines of code. Only this way I found out that the files started with a dot. I anyone's interested, I can post that code, too.
