Thanks Dianne. I misunderstood what: getResources().getConfiguration().keyboard == Configuration.KEYBOARD_QWERTY would do. I thought it was talking about the layout configuration of the keyboard QWERTY/AZERTY, not whether a keyboard was present or not.
