Thats right what I am trying to say is that when I apply white theme then the text views become black. I mean the text become black but the background also remains black. But this wont happen with the list view. So do i have to explicitly set the color of the background for the them. Currently I am not setting any background. Here is what I am doing : this is the xml for Activity
