For what it's worth, it works on a real device. I agree it's pretty nice, although honestly, so far I've yet to encounter a battery draining app so didn't use it "for real".
At least for 1.5, it'll be a useful tool for developers to understand their own app usage and help police each other but as Diane says not something that's useful for most end users yet (unless you want to explain what a wakelock is??)
