I submitted this (very 1st post) to this forum 8 hours ago and it
never showed up. My apologies if I've done something wrong however it
appears it just disappeared into the ether. Anyway, here goes another
try...

Thanks in advance for any assistance anyone can provide!!!

My issue is this: I have a small app developed using Eclipse v3.4.2 w/
andoid plugin set to v1.1 that I am trying in vain to install OTA tomy
G1 using the T-Mobile network. I can successfully install and launch
it 3 other ways:

1) To emulator via Eclipse
2) To G1 via USB
3) To emulator via a Browse to my web site.

I have also verified that apache is configured correctly as I have
downloaded another (someone else's) non-market app to my web site and
then hosted it from there just as a quick test to verify mime type was
correct, etc...it downloads, installs and launches fine.

I've Goggled all day and found and tried many things. About the only
thing I haven't tried yet is someone's suggestion that T-Mobile may be
compressing apk's under 64K and then not uncompressing them properly
and since my app is only 10K, it fits the bill.

Most people just seem to punt and just suggest using the USB for non-
market apps. That works fine for me but is not much help to others
that I want to share the app with (for beta testing) since some of
these people don't have the SDK, aren't developers, etc. It's also a
bit premature to put it in the Market to see if it works from there.

Just to be clear, I have the non-market installs checked on the G1 and
I can successfully download it and attempt to install it. It does
properly show the app name and permissions required, etc and attempts
to install, but always comes back with "Install was unsuccessful" with
no hints as to why it fails. Has anyone else experienced this or am I
the lucky one?

Any ideas, suggestions???
