It's very strange, but now it looks like I don't have that problem anymore. I'm sitting here looking at the phone (which is connected to my computer) and it has not gone into screen lock - i can still see what's on the screen. Only difference is I updated to 1.5r2, but I would imagine resolving our previous issue would take a change to the phone's build? I'm confused.
