You can't. My Ion shows the same thing. More importantly, though, my retail-purchased G1 shows the phone number originally associated with the SIM, before my existing T-Mobile number was ported to this account. Hence, the number the SIM reports to Android is incorrect. For any given device, given enough fussing, you can probably score a SIM that reports the proper number.
