Is there any intention for Android to have this feature, for use on
hardware that does support it? Is there any technical reason why it
isn't valid, or is it just because the mobile networks don't want
people bridging handsets to their PBXs to reduce call costs? It would
be great if someone could run Asterisk and IAX on this device, with a
channel driver for the GSM hardware.
Is the limitation in the hardware itself, or in the manufacturer-
specific firmware?
