It depends entirely on what version of linux and the version of eclipse that it supports. I run both WIndows 7/Eclipse 3.4, Fedora 10/Eclipse 3.4 and Ubuntu 8.10/Eclipse 3.4 and each install was completely different. Windows/Eclipse was by far the easiest to setup and is really just a matter of following the instructions on the developers site http://d.android.com
