We've had this discussion a few times before: http://groups.google.com/group/android-developers/browse_thread/thread/bc1e6e1524dcca5a/0c4d20a769e666e5?lnk=gst&q=googlenav#0c4d20a769e666e5
Unless someone found out otherwise, googlenav in Android seems to be history. BTW, if memory serves me right, googlenav was pulled wayback in m5. An API using a small set of mockup data was included instead, but that did not raise my interest, and I haven't heard where that went. As an alternative, you could perhaps check out what the devs of Andnav2 (andnav.org and http://code.google.com/p/osmdroid/) have done. They moved on to OpenStreetMaps and use a geo-search engine outside of Google or another commercial provider.
