That makes sense, I should have noticed that. In that case I guess I should backtrack and ask a different question as I'm still at a dead end. So looking back at the 'writeline' function in /device/system/reference-ril/atchannel.c the commands gets sent to a function named 'write'. At the time of my previous question I thought this was in the FakeDev. I'm guessing this is not the case for when the code is ported to the device. When looking for the function in Eclipse, I get sent to a file at / kernel/arch/um/os-Linux/user_syms.c to see the code for this function. What is happening in this c file?
