As far as i can figure out the return on ads is not worth it unless you can serve > 100,000 impressions per day. At the normal clickthru rate you can expect about $1 for every 1000 ads served up (with admob anyway)
Admob also has a very small advertiser base, its always the same ads showing up. Good thing google are finally getting into the game with adsense. Pity its restricted right now tho.
