There is no support for the serial port profile (SPP) in bluetooth.
This is a firmware limitation that will be fixed in the future.

Re USB is a little less clear. I've seen speculation that the HTC
hardware can support USB OTG which would in theory allow keyboards,
printers and other peripherals to be connected. There are serial cable
hacks out there. See: http://www.instructables.com/id/Android_G1_Serial_Cable/
