Has anyone been able to down load the android source code by following
the
recommended steps as noted on the android web page?

If so, how was that done, as the remote end is consistently
terminating the connection.

Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Here is what dosn't work after multiple retries over the last couple
of days:

mkdir mydroid
cd mydroid
repo init -u git://android.git.kernel.org/platform/manifest.git
repo sync
