1. Users can take the sdcard out of the device. 2. Some apps allow the sdcard to be mounted as an USB disk drive when the android device is plugged via USB. During this time, the sdcard is not reachable from android apps. (3. I'm not even sure that a sdcard reader is a mandatory requirement in android devices specifications...)
