You probably do not want your ImageView *on* the SurfaceView. You probably want your ImageView *above* the SurfaceView. For example: http://github.com/commonsguy/vidtry/tree/master Here I have a SurfaceView for video playback, and based on touch events I have all sorts of controls appearing on top of it: buttons, progress bars, AutoCompleteTextViews, etc. Wrap your SurfaceView in a RelativeLayout, and put your ImageView in the same RelativeLayout *after* the SurfaceView (and with appropriate layout attributes to position it properly on screen). The ImageView will be "higher on the Z axis", meaning it will appear to be on top of the video. -- Mark Murphy (a Commons Guy) http://commonsware.com | http://twitter.com/commonsguy Android Development Wiki: http://wiki.andmob.org --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Developers" group.
