I have spent the entire night trying to make it work, but no luck...very much frustrated now. :-(
Tried: keytool -genkey -v -keystore pisara_3_release.keystore -alias pisara_3_release -keyalg RSA -validity 80000 keytool -list -alias pisara_3_release -keystore pisara_3_release.keystore Both commands worked fine with no errors. Google servers are happily giving the fingerprint for generated key...but when fed to MapViews (there are two MapViews in my application), the Map just refuses to be displayed. I get the error message "persistently" when used the generated key: E/MapActivity(11312): Couldn't get connection factory client I tried both on Windows XP as well as Mac 10.5.8 but no luck. The weird thing is the Overlays are "always" seen. Please, can someone tell how exactly should the key be generated please??? Many thanks in advance. I searched the google groups and other sites and tried all the options but fast exhausting out of the possible steps now.
