This is really bad.

When one application is uninstalled the other application stops
working correctly - and users have no idea why the application fails,
they just end up blaming the application developer.

BTW - I do not believe the android marketplace provides a way to just
reinstall without an upgrade, so the reinstall solution even if the
user were to detect the cause of failure does not work.
