Hi, I am new to android development. I am working on voice recognition from past 1-2 months and I am trying to find a way to create a voice recognition based application. I found that android SDK (on PC - emulator) does not have support for voice recognition mainly for two reason 1) No microphone support 2) Google Voice Recognition does not come with SDK and/or on the emulator (I am using ubuntu for my dev).
I have read somewhere that I can use different system image (say my ubuntu sys image) but did not find any suitable documentation/ walkthrough for the same. Has anyone found a solution for the same? I have tried to work on the source but its taking too much development time. Even if I am able to make microphone work I have to use a different api for voice recognition (pocketSphinx, or other). I am not sure whether this will work too since there is byte code incompatiblity between Sphinx and Android ... all this is taking too much of my development time. So finally I have decided to buy ADP 1 so that I can concentrate on application development rather than solving these issue, but does ADP 1 comes with voice recognition or there is no solution for this problem? Also how will the system work i.e; do I need a service provider ?????
