I too am running running on Ubuntu version 9.10 as well. Adding sdkman.force.http=true to ~/.android/androidtool.cfg allowed me to retrieve the Sites, Packages, and Archives via the Android SDK and AVD Manager.
However, nothing happens when I select one of the and click "Install Selected" (button), nothing happens, when I select one of the items from the list to install by clicking on "install selected". Any help will be greatly appreciated.
