Just a (wild) guess. I see that your SpecTrek app uses the camera. Might the problem be related to the ongoing discussion about the HTC Tattoo and app visibility at http://groups.google.com/group/android-developers/browse_frm/thread/bda3d385db2b44dc/ ? There android.permission.CAMERA seems to play a role for as yet unknown reasons.
