Hello! When the emulator starts, it needs to load the OS like a real device; that's why you're seeing the word "Android". It can take a long time to load, specially if it's loading Eclair. Once it starts though, you don't need to close it every time you build your app; Eclipse will install it again and start it in the emulator, you can see it in the Console.
