You can use the location manager. There are attributes like latitude, longitude and altitude which you can get directly from the Location Manager.
If the provider is GPS PROVIDER, they you would probably get the height everytime, but if you are querying for the NETWORK PROVIDER, then the height would always be set to zero, well, in most cases.
