You are right, and while I don't think it will be changed, I thought it might be worth mentioning it in any case. I actually have a solution, which is to set the coordinates to non-existing values, but I am afraid that other apps on a given phone, which were working correctly up until that point, might start experiencing unexpected behaviors as a result of the modifications to the "standards" instituted by my app. It is certainly not my intention to affect the proper functioning of other people's work. Only if everyone actually checks that the coordinates are "terrestrial", would my modifications to the coordinates stored in database not pose any problems to other apps.
