What exactly are the values returned by the accelerometer on the
Motorola Droid?

According to the Google documentation, it should be m/s^2, though,
that doesn't seem to be the case.

Secondly, I have been attempting to determine changes in velocity
using the accelerometer. Any suggestions on the best way to do this?
There is very little documentation anywhere that I can find on
calibrating and using the the accelerometer to determine changes in
velocity, so I've been having to blindly stumble forth on my own. I
attempted calibrating by using the starting values of the
accelerometers as the 0's, but as I'm sure you can imagine, this
resulted in values later on simply telling me how the device was
oriented as compared to how it was oriented when I first calibrated
it.

Any advice on this matter would be appreciated.
