I have worked on some code that reads the accelerometer. One thing I
noticed was that it makes a big difference whether I ran the code in
debug mode or non-debug mode.

if I ran the code in debug mode the readings came back spaced a long
way apart and the resulting force calculations were also effected.

When I ran the code in non-debug mode, I could still log the timing
and force information and see the logged output. The log showed that
the spacing between the callbacks was much shorter in non-debug mode
than it was in debug mode.

I am not sure how you are running when getting your numbers, but it is
something to check.
