Got it figured out...  The word I was missing in the search was
intent.  After seeing that word around more and more I used that and
came across this...

Which said to use this...
    Intent i = new Intent(Intent.VIEW_ACTION, Uri.parse("http://
www.cnn.com"));
    startActivity(i);
