I've been able to copy UTF-8 text from Microsoft Office documents to source code in Eclipse without a hitch. Are you sure the encoding in the source document is also UTF-8? I've often debugged character encoding issues using a hex editor, such as XVII, but it does take some study of UTF-8. Here's a good resource: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UTF-8
