Hi there... I am a iPhone user and Developer (FreePing/SuperPing) and I love my iPhone... I say that with the view of a developer, engineer and user. The iPhone has its limits (App Reviews... eg) but it's the best hardware & software I've ever had for a smartphone.
Now since we are planing to implement an app both for iPhone OS and Android I bought a NexusOne and after one day I would like to share my thoughts about it and I am curious what you guys think about the NexusOne: 1 (++) first, the screen is beautiful 2 (- -) The touchscreen reacts with a lag behind (relative to an iPhone 3GS). I touch and swipe my finger over a list and it takes time the list follows me. 3 (- -) I have quite a lot of "false positives" in terms of clicks instead of swipes... I swipe over the display and more objects than I want get highlighted (yellow/orange glow) even if I swipe with the finger. it really shouldnt 4 (---) I never, really never, had to touch twice of more the screen on my iPhone; but with the NexusOne its quite common. Especially the "Illuminated capacitive soft keys" dont get touched. 5 (--) I am new to the platform, but the UI paradigm is sometimes just against the user (scroll up a list, start/end of lists indication, ...) there are other things that are anoying but the "touch" thing is just critical and it should be better, really. Apple does a great job in this area and I'd expect that a device with this power... Beside that its a great platform and I like the SDK, its emulator (qemu) and things like dalvik (just to have the right tool for the right problem). -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Developers" group.
