Why resume? Your download is in a background thread, perhaps an
AsyncTask. That will keep chugging along regardless of the orientation
change.

You will need to work out a means of having the AsyncTask communicate
with the right Activity instance when the download is complete -- some
people use statics, I've experimented with a local message bus, etc.
