Actually managed to find out...

You just need to add a listener to the dialog's OnDismissListener.

E.g.

In the calling Activity:

...
MyDialog myDialog = new MyDialog(this, ...);
myDialog.setOnDismissListener(myDialogDismissListener);
myDialog.show();
...

private OnDismissListener myDialogDismissListener = new
OnDismissListener(){

    public void onDismiss(DialogInterface dialog) {
        refershGuiValues();
    }
};
