Even if its a scam they didn't collect any "sensitive" info other then my address. Google does things like this all the time.
Honestly I feel this is all due to the low adoption rate of Android 2.0 from manufacturers. It makes sense for Google to get these in our hands to start developing apps. I for one feel its totally legit.
