Hi, I'm considering buying a lower end phone for testing the android apps that I develop. I want to buy an HTC Dream or something similar from Craigslist. It will likely be a used phone, possibly locked to a particular carrier. Question is: can I perform my testing on this phone without actually activating it for any particular carrier?
Reason why I ask is because I know that iphone will not let you do anything until it is activated (ie: a valid sim card is put in). I want to be able to test without putting any sim card into the the android phone.
