She clarified - "via adb". So they can still be monopolistic. (Vote with
your feet, don't buy crippled phones..)

I suspect it won't be long before someone builds a desktop client for their
alt app store that just uses adb to do the installations. (Ahem, Shane, you
listening? :) ..) Look ma, at&t forced us to compete with the iTunes store.
(And while we're at it, lets build one with searching. And decent
descriptions. And VIDEO...)
