I've got NetBeans 6.8 + NBAndroid + Android SDK r5 working.

Maybe you're getting "A platform target has to be selected" error when
adding Android Java Platform. Follow this:

"It works for me! I am running linux 32 bit and netbeans 6.8 and after
installing the latest android SDK and running the tools/android update
tool to down load the SDKs, netbeans new exactly where to look. Mind
you, my SDK is not in a write protected directory, but, in a folder in
my home directory. I would suggest checking to make sure you have both
read and write permissions for the SDK directory and see if that
helps. "
