not an expert here, but have you put an intent filter in the manifest
for the activity you want to start?
Gives the system an idea that you want that activity to catch that
intent.
Something like this?...
<intent-filter . . . >
<action android:name="com.pushservice.PushActivity" />
</intent-filter>
