Thanks. I was worried in rooting that I might have permissions the end
users don't have and therefore don't see some bugs that they do.

I have four options now that I will pursue:

1. Get a Droid and bypass activation with the four corner method.
Since I don't have a Verizon plan it will just be a tablet for around
home.
2. I've seen one craigslist listing for a Motorola MIlestone = GSM
Droid. It won't work with TMobile 3G, but I don't have that anyway.
3. (Tempting) I've heard word of an unofficial ROM with Nexus One 2.1
for G1.  I'd need to root. I'd assume that would have the market.
4. Wait for a good deal on a Nexus One.
