Regular Android devices (not emulator) have a setting to never lock the
screen if the phone is charging. I use it on my development phone, it works.

I believe emulators make it look like the emulated phone is charging.

Perhaps this setting would work there, too? It's under developement
settings, next to "allow usb debugging".
