Hi, I'm building an application that has to read some information from the server and reacts on that. I also want to give the user of the app the ability to force an update.
I saw the sync system (don't know the official name) that comes with version 2.0. Looks useful, but some things are unclear to me: At what interval is the onPerformSync method called? I did some tests and saw that it varies (every minute, to several hours not at all, to every hour), but I could not find a pattern. Can these interval times be changed? I like to sync every 10 minutes Can I programmatically force a sync operation when a user requests it? What happens when the phone isn't connected to the internet because Android automatically shuts that down to save energy. Does the sync system connect to the internet for you? Does that also work for internet through WIFI? Hope someone can help me :) Best regards, Rick -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Developers" group.
