I think you're out of luck for now. Hopefully, an update will be forthcoming however, it may be the device doesn't have enough memory or CPU to handle 2.1, perhaps 2.2 is skinnier and that one will be able to be ported to the MyTouch/ION. I have that device as well (got it at IO 2009). Since I have AT&T, I've just forwarded my regular phone number to the Droid for now, when the free deal runs out, I'll go back to the ION. It's a nice phone and I like it a lot. The Droid is ok too, just a bit too heavy for my personal taste.
