Nobody said that the 2.2 update was unofficial. Since it has been mentioned on numerous blogs (Techcrunch, Engadget, etc.) that people were starting to get OTA updates, to me that indicated that the rollout had begun. I would have never updated my one and only phone had I known that the update was unofficial.
