OK, it doesn't work on my motorola milestone, but it does work on G1, so it seems a problem in motorola's implementation, not in the android's framework... Maybe if they used the time to make a better phone (call quality wise), and implement the RIL interface better, instead of locking every single bit of it - then it would have been reaaaaally good for everyone. Now I can't use the public API because of their poor implementation - motorola probably has something like 30% of the Android market and can't be ignored, although I don't know if the problem arises using their cdma phones..
