Fantastic idea. The widgets on HTC Sense are not only great looking but the animation, scroll and gesture support (such as like flicking pictures in the album widget) add genuinely useful functionality.
More importantly to Google, Home screen widgets are one of the great advantages of Android over the iPhone and other smartphone platforms, and anything they can do to keep the momentum of that advantage can only be good for Android.
