Based on the research I've done there's no way to open a SWF file without user interaction (file selector) on HTC phones with Flash Lite. The Flash Lite component is a HTC component and not the same as the installation of Flash Player 10.1 on Android 2.2. That should work with the release of Android 2.2 for the Desire, though.
