Hi.

I'm trying to write a program that will give me the GPS coordinates
for an object that is currently in focus of my android camera.

I can get the GPS coordinates of my phone and in which direction the
camera lens is pointing. Now I just need to figure out the distance
between the phone itself and the object in focus. Is it possible to
use the camera's auto focus function to calculate the distance to the
object? Can it be done in some other way?

Thanks in advance!

Johan
