.. if they would not launch a "real" phone, i.e., hardware but a
software which you could run on many phones as possible, i.e., a
software solution so that it not matters which phone you actually
have. There would have to be a number of implementations but if you
look at the market there are not so many makers which would be worth
(by volume) to support them. A layer on top of J2ME (Connected Limited
Device Configuration (CLDC), Connected Device Configuration (CDC),
Mobile Information Device Profile (MIDP), ...) could do the job, or?
Or something which compiles  to run on such an environment (like
www.j2mepolish.org).
