It's pretty funny how much leeway people seem to give Google with open
source licenses. The latest Android SDK has been up for at least 6
days now and it does include WebCore and JavaScriptCore which are both
LGPL. Not only have they not posted the latest sources for those
libraries but they removed all the old sources of those libraries from
their "open source repository". Also no LGPL copyright notice is
included in the SDK either. I know if Microsoft or Apple did the same
thing people would scream bloody murder. Am I missing something or do
people not seem to get as annoyed when Google is the violator?

I am pretty sure that the LGPL doesn't explicitly state that you can
post the source code at your leisure or in sync with some other
business schedule. They do say that they plan to make the project open
source but in the meantime if Google is posting binaries of LGPL
libraries to developers they should be releasing sources as well.

I know that the Android team is hard at work and probably in crunch
mode but the LGPL is a license agreement and it should be followed
regardless of your other work obligations/schedules/timelines.

I look forward to seeing the sources for WebKit and JavaScriptCore
being posted promptly.
